Ready to Read Program

[Richland School District]

Hello Ms Jones,

COLA Gives is a non profit, philanthropic organization, whose members collectively leverage their time, talent and treasury to support community based initiatives and programs. We were recently made aware of District Two's R2 Ready to Read Program. At our most recent meeting, the Ready to Read Program was discussed and the membership felt it was an extremely worthwhile and necessary initiative. Therefore, a decision was made to make a donation of books appropriate for Pre-K to second grade reading levels.....

Jackie, COLA Gives

Jackie,

What a wonderful email to get on a Friday afternoon. You've made my day!...

I can't thank you enough for supporting this endeavor. We want to get books into the hands of our youngest children in hopes of boosting their success for the future.

Thank you for being a part of this project....

Richland School District

Greetings, Dr. Dixon-

...On behalf of the Lower Richland High School families who received holiday baskets, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to COLA Gives for the very generous donations. Upon receiving their baskets, more than one family exclaimed with wide eyes “All of that is for us!?!” In my 3 years at LR, I have been overwhelmed at the generosity of groups, such as yourselves that have assisted and supported my work of assisting families in addressing their basic needs, such as hunger.

The families that received baskets each expressed a hearty “thank you” – a few sent in cards and one student even brought in a teddy bear to express her gratitude. Because of you, several families had a fully outfitted dinner table for Christmas and beyond, but more importantly, they know that people care about them. Thank you for your “time, talent and treasure”. May God continue to use you in very powerful and profound ways.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Dixon

I can't thank you enough for the generosity of your giving group. The books you've donated to the R2 Ready to Read program have already been sorted & boxed and ready to go to our schools.

Our youngest students in Pre-K -v 2nd grade will benefit so much from having books in their homes. Thank you so much for paying attention to the efforts going on in the community.

Please express my sincere appreciation to your group for quietly going about the business of helping and supporting our efforts and the students in district two.

Many thanks,

Martha Jones

Ghana Desk Project

COLA Gives helps where the need is greatest. We collaborated with a member of the giving circle to supply almost fifty desks elementary students. These desks were built by members of the Ghanaian village in which the school is located. Prior to this project, the students took their lessons on the earthen floor of the school. Working in partnership with the Center for Africa Missions and local village leaderships, COLA Gives is poised to expand its work to have both a local and global impact.
